Daum Communications Media Institute 1st Building
Jeju Island, Jeju Technopark, Korea
Protek's Korean Agent, GeoProtek, has secured a contract to supply its Protek Underfloor
Air conditioning system to Korean Internet supplier, Daum Communications. The project
is Daum's new facility on Cheju Island and is due to be completed in December 2005.
The building consists of office space for 260 employees, gymnasium, restaurant;
and an exhibition area which will be available for public use.
Cheju Island is an important conservation area to the south of the Korean peninsular
and the new building, by award winning Korean architect HnaOngodang, is designed
to be sympathetic to the unique environment of Cheju.
Daum Communications is one of the first companies in Korea to implement the Korean
Government's decentralisation policy, which is designed to move business and government
offices from the fast growing and over crowded capital city, Seoul . South Korean's
President Roh will officially open this building in December.
The project therefore has a high profile in Korea and is an important one for both
Daum Communications and the Korean government. Protek will supply its Zone Units,
RAG units together with controller for this important project; and its local agent,
GeoProtek, is responsible for the installation.
Daum Communications Media Institute 2nd Building
Jeju Island, Jeju Technopark, Korea
The success of installing the Protek Underfloor Air-conditioning system for Daum
building number 1 in Jeju Island back in 2005 meant Protek were awarded with the
contract to supply their second building in Jeju inside a new Technopark.
Once again due to the environmentally friendly nature towards building in Jeju the
building design is not only energy efficient but blends in with its natural environment.
The project was delivered with completion end of 2011.
